Dr Deborah Tan is currently the Head & Consultant at the Eye Centre at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital, and a consultant with the Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Paediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus Departments at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC).

Dr Tan obtained her medical degree and Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) from National University of Singapore (NUS).  She is a member of the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology and an accredited Ophthalmology Specialist by the Singapore Medical Council.  She was appointed a Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore.

Besides general ophthalmology, her clinical interests include paediatric ophthalmology, adult and paediatric cataracts, myopia, strabismus and retinopathy of prematurity. She has published scientific papers in international peer-reviewed medical journals, presented in numerous international and local conferences, written book chapters and clinical guidelines for SNEC.
